Jo C's Norfolk Ale
Traditionally brewing was principally a woman's job carried out by brewsters or alewives until it was mostly taken over by men following the black death and during the following few centuries. It was these ladies that inspired Jo Coubrough to start Jo C's Norfolk Ales. Set up in The Old Store on the Barsham Estate near Fakenham, the brewery uses water from its own bore hole and Maris Otter barley grown in neighbouring fields to brew award winning Norfolk Ales.
